Involvement in wood turning was a major contributor to my well-being.
I took up turning a few years ago shortly after selling my business to take an early retirement with a potential part time making income.
So, 6 months on, and I’m diagnosed with lymphoma after a sore throat would not go away. Then as treatment progressed, it brings you to some incredible lows. Your self esteem falls, the works!
But, having time to get into the shed was an enabling distraction, although the physical strength was an issue at first. As time went on, mental attitude improved, the solitude and immersion of involvement in wood turning was a major contributor to my well-being and I now promote woodturning wherever I can .
I’m now 7 years clear and still turning and promoting our craft.
